Doumen shows rural richness all seasons from now on

Folk art performances, culinary specialties, countryside leisure activities, and more attractions are to be offered during all four seasons since the Doumen Rural Tourism Year began on Jan 21.

The opening ceremony took place at Tingyun (Perching Clouds) Small Town in Guangming Village of Lianzhou Town. The yearlong series lists 13 spring events, five summer, nine autumn, and three winter. Nine other activities will support the theme of Shared Prosperity With the City.

Under the banner of "Building Dreams and the Bay Area," the diverse cultural life of Doumen will be showcased along with the promise of an ideal environment for living, travel, and work.

Four-season tourism begins

Supporting the endeavor, an agreement was signed on site to convert some dwellings in Guangming into B&Bs. Zhuhai Langtao Culture & Tourism Co is responsible for that development.

Meanwhile, upcoming celebrations of Chinese New Year around the district will include flower displays, Crocodile Island Year of the Pig Carnival, Shili Lianjiang Spring-Themed Garden Party, and Xiaotang Food Street Temple Fair at Yu Wen Quan Imperial Hot Springs Resort. Furthermore, boutique travel routes will be recommended for the Feb 4-10 holiday.

Last year, Doumen maintained double-digit growth in rural tourism numbers such as total revenue, number of tourists and overnight guests, and other indicators.
