Streamlined city government reforms come into effect

Reforms to clearly define city government functions and duties while eliminating overlaps started coming into effect on Jan 20. By late January there will be 16 Party and 30 government units. A reshuffling of district governments is to be completed by April.

Ten local Party and government departments unveiled new plaques on Sunday in line with Zhuhai's Institutional Reform Plan. The plan, under the rule of law, was approved by the Guangdong provincial Party committee and government on Dec 26, 2017.

The plaques are for the Comprehensive Rule of Law Committee Office of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, and Zhuhai bureaus of Industry & Information Technology; Justice; Ecology & Environment; Transport (Port Administration); Commerce; Culture, Radio, Film, Television, Culture, Sports & Tourism; Emergency Management; Market Regulation (Intellectual Property), Statistics; and Public Complaints & Proposals.
