And the benefits are not confined to the events industry, with 66 billion yuan flowing to related industries in 2018, supporting a total of 30,000 jobs.

Major expos in 2018 included the 15th China (Changchun) International Automobile Expo held in July and the 17th China Changchun International Agriculture and Food Expo held in August, with the volume of business brought in by the events reaching 6.06 billion yuan and 280 million yuan respectively.

In 2019, the city plans to host 179 large-scale exhibitions, eight of which are expected to cover more than 50,000 sq m. And the exhibitions are expected to bring total revenues of 8.2 billion yuan, providing job opportunities for 33,000 people.

With the rapid growth in recent years, and many exciting events planned for the future, it’s clear that Changchun is fast becoming the destination for large-scale events.
