New art center in Xiangzhou to hold various activities

Xiangzhou District opened another civil arts center on Jan 1. It will be used for exhibitions, performances, training, reading, and various community activities.

The newly-opened Nanping Citizens Arts Center has a prime location near Rong Hong (Yung Wing) Square in the corner of Nanping street. Huafa Shopping Mall is located to its east and Zhuhai Avenue to its south. It is surrounded by historic sites and cultural attractions.

Consisting of two separate buildings, the center has a total floor space of 2,000 sq m. The east building includes exhibition halls, multi-purpose rooms, and spaces for music events. The west building features a room reserved for kids and a place to play piano, practice calligraphy, sing traditional operas, and learn traditional arts and crafts.

Nanping Citizens Arts Center opens in the middle of Nanping Town, Xiangzhou District.

Intangible cultural heritage items are displayed in the Nanping Citizens Arts Center.

Hours: 9-12 am, 2:30-6 pm, 7-9 pm, from Tuesday to Sunday

Location: First Lane of Dongdajie Street, Nanping Town (南屏镇东大街一巷)

How to get there: Take bus #16, 201, 202, 204, 207, 25, 34, 45, 601B, 601, 602A, 602, 603, 605, 609, 80, 81, 83, 86, B3, K4, K8, or Z18, and get off at Nanping Street Corner (南屏街口).
