Ice lanterns and sculptures decorate Changchun

A number of exhibitions featuring lanterns and sculptures started to open to the public at parks across Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, on Jan 1.

The exhibition in Changchun Park alone covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters, with ice sculptures made using over 3,500 cubic meters of ice, according to a worker at the park.

Changchun Park has been organizing such exhibitions since 2017, and this year, in addition to ice and snow sculptures covering 16 themes, activities such as ice bumper cars and snowmobile rides will be available to visitors.

The exhibition at Changchun Park is open to visitors from 18:00 to 21:00 every day.

In addition, the ice and snow festival at Nanhu Park also opened to visitors. Its ice sculptures pay tribute to China's four decades of reform and opening-up, as well as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
