Sanhe Ancient Town is located on the Hefei-Huangshan Mountain-Jiuhua Mountain golden tourist route, 40 kilometers from the city of Hefei, Anhui province. Its name comes from the fact that the three rivers – the Fengle, Hangbu and Xiaonan – intersect in the town.

With an area of 4.71 square kilometers and a permanent population of 30,000, the town has a history of more than 2,500 years.

There is an old saying about Sanhe which goes: “To make a tour, one should go to the Huangshan Mountain; to sample food, one should visit Sanhe.”

The town is full of buildings built in the styles of the Ming and Qing dynastiess. The white walls, gray roofs, red pillars, and the streets paved with smooth bluestones present beautiful scenery for visitors.
