Mohe, a county-level city in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, is home to the famous Beiji Village, known as China's "Arctic Village", which is the northernmost village in China. A well-known winter destination, it is striving to promote itself as a summer destination for visitors.

Beiji village is for adventurous types. It is one of the few places in China with a subarctic climate - long, severe winters and short, warm summers. Winter begins in early to mid-October and lasts until late April, and it is the coldest place in China. Sunrise comes at 9 am, and sunset arrives by 3 pm here.

Beiji village sits a river away from Russia and is an ideal place to witness the amazing aurora borealis or northern lights in summer. Visitors can experience polar days and nights, with the shortest period of darkness in Beiji village lasting only a few hours during the summer.
