Due to how well-protected the natural environment of the mountain is, a large variety of flora and fauna species can be found inhabiting the area. The scenic spot offers visitors the opportunity to get back in touch with nature in northeastern China. Tourists are be able to see mushrooms thriving in the grasslands, trees bearing wild fruit, squirrels, hares and pheasants running through the dense forest of pines, elms and aspens, and so much more.

It is not only the stunning view of the mountain that makes it so popular, but also the unique local Korean culture that has been passed down through generations of local inhabitants. One can take a bite of the traditional Korean food or enjoy on the long Korean swings at the Ethnic Culture Garden located at the foot of the Mao'er Mountain.
