City hires pros to ensure rural areas develop properly

A long-term vision for rural development was initiated on Nov 1 when the Zhuhai Rural Revitalization Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed with 14 partners at Zhuhai's Holiday Resort Hotel.

The city government envisions an ideal destination for living, working, and traveling in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The best teams were sought out nationwide with rich practical experience in the field of rural revitalization. They will design a picturesque countryside, realize the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, make countryside living more pleasant, speed up revitalization, create rural development plans, help industry flourish, protect the livable ecology, and create a large-scale living environment.

The city's economic position, resources, industrial advantages, environmental capacity, and other factors will be considered under the rural revitalization strategy. Measures will be enacted that are suited to local conditions and to the inhabitants of each town and village.

The consultants have been issued letters of appointment and tasked with Zhuhai to follow Zhejiang Province as another national example of rural revitalization.
