Confab promotes Sino-Hispanic partnerships in Zhuhai

The 12th China-LAC Business Summit will tap bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, finance, trade, and services in Zhuhai for the first time from Nov 1 to 3.

More than 1,700 participants are expected to gather at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen Central Business District. Joining 600 people from more than 40 Latin American-Caribbean countries will be 1,100 State government leaders, financial experts, local officials, representatives of international organizations, and business associations in China.

Some of top-performing Chinese enterprises will also be present. Chief among them are State Grid Corp of China (SGCC), China Communication Construction Co (CCCC), China Baowu Steel Group Corp, and Gree Electric Appliances of Zhuhai.

They will take part in the three-day China-LAC Trade Exhibition and roundtable meetings for trade promotion organizations, as well as business matchmakings. Also expected are agreements for cooperation projects to be formalized at a signing ceremony. The agenda includes the China-LAC Soccer Cooperation Forum, according to a spokesperson.

Activities will revolve around the theme of "Promoting Belt & Road global cooperation, seizing new opportunities for China-LAC economic and trade development."

The intent is to raise the level of China-LAC trade and investment and promote the transformation and upgrade of pragmatic cooperation. The final goal is to achieve common development and mutual benefits at a higher level.

The China-LAC Business Summit was initiated by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in 2007 as the first comprehensive conference of its kind. It is held annually in China and LAC countries on a rotating basis and has grown into a flagship brand in China-LAC practical cooperation hailed by the Chinese government.

CCPIT co-sponsors the event along with the Guangdong Provincial Government, People's Bank of China, and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The China Chamber of International Commerce and Zhuhai government are the organizers.
