Baotou records steady industrial growth

The value added economic output of industries above a designated size in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, grew by 10.2 percent year on year in the first three quarters of 2018, according to the statistics bureau of Baotou.

The figure was 3.8 percentage points higher than the national average and 4.2 percentage points higher than the autonomous region’s average.

In the first three quarters of the year, the industrial added value of the five pillar industries which are steel, aluminum, equipment manufacturing, electric power and rare earth increased by 18.7 percent year on year, 8.5 percentage points higher than the city's average, accounting for 76.5 percent of the added value of industries above a designated size in the city.

From January to August, 400 industrial enterprises above a designated size in Baotou achieved year-on-year increases of 24.8 percent in main business revenue and realized profit growth of 86.3 percent.
