Self-driving smart delivery robot from Chinese e-commerce giant JD emerged at Shengle campus of Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU), in Horinger New Area, Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 16.

Independently researched and developed by JD X, JD's logistics innovation lab, the delivery robot can carry a maximum load of 100 kilograms with six packages and has the abilities of autonomous driving and obstacle avoidance.

While experiencing robotic delivery services, IMNU students also have the opportunity to study a part of sensors offered by JD X. They can also offer some views and ideas from the perspective of users to help JD X to upgrade the robots.

In addition, according to local media reports, a smart unmanned delivery demonstration base constructed by JD logistics and Horinger New Area will start trial operation on Nov 11.
