Baotou reports strong economic growth

Baotou recorded sound economic growth for the first eight months of 2018 with the added value of industries above a designated scale in the city reporting year-on-year growth of 9.7 percent, according to Baotou Daily.

The growth rate ranked third among the 12 leagues and cities of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The figure was 3.2 percentage points higher the national average and 4.1 percentage points higher than the average for the autonomous region.

The city's general public budget expenditure was 19.5 billion yuan ($2.82 billion). And public spending totaled 15.59 billion yuan, accounting for 80 percent of general public budget expenditure.
