Baotou tourist attractions get higher ratings

Three major tourist attractions in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, have recently been assessed by a group from the Inner Mongolia Tourism and Development Committee.

Baotou Science and Technology Museum, currently a national 2A-level scenic area, is in the process of applying to become a 3A-level scenic area. The museum opened to the public on Jan 11, and has so far received a total of 400,000 visitors. The museum was selected as one of the top institutions for promoting science and technology by the Publicity Department of the CPC, China Association for Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Mount Chunkun is currently a 3A-level scenic area and is on its way to becoming a national 4A-level scenic area. Mount Chunkun covers an area of 30 square meters. It is the largest alpine meadow grassland in the central and western part of the autonomous region and features a grass landscape, with hot springs available all year round. [Photo/Baotou Daily]

Located in Jiuyuan district, Huangheyao scenic area is on its way to becoming a 3A-level scenic area. The tourist site, which covers an area of 20,000 square meters, is a cultural and leisure destination that integrates history, culture and a natural landscape. [Photo/Baotou Daily]
