The Changsha tourism bureau signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation with the Bristol Tourist Office in the UK at the 2018 China (Hunan) International Tourism Festival on Sept 26.

Based on the principle of equality and mutual benefits, the Changsha tourism bureau and Bristol Tourist Office will form a long-term comprehensive partnership to achieve resource-sharing and common development. Yi Mao, director of the Changsha tourism bureau, said that the cooperation between Changsha and Bristol will promote the development of tourism on both sides.

The two cities will establish a system for personnel exchanges in the tourism industry to strengthen cooperation between the two cities and between tourism enterprises, tourism administration systems, hotels, travel agencies, scenic spots, etc. Information links will also be set up on each other's official websites.

The two parties will encourage travel agencies to carry out preferential activities for visitors. The tourism enterprises of both parties will be invited to participate in various large exhibitions and festivals to enhance their reputations. Media promotion will also play an important role.

In addition, Changsha and Bristol will encourage businesses to invest in and develop tourism projects in each other's cities.

Bristol is the largest city in Southwest Britain and has the largest number of traditional buildings and historical relics. It is also an important commercial port.
