Baotou aims to spark interest in science

Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region marked National Science Day with a launch ceremony for a series of science activities held on Sept 21, reports Baotou Daily.

National Science Day, which falls on the third Saturday in September, is an annual event initiated by the China Association for Science and Technology aimed at getting people to take an interest in the subject.

Around 18,000 science promotion activities were held nationwide during this year’s National Science Day, with events taking place from Sept 15 to 21.

A total of 260 activities were held in Baotou.
