An instant alarm platform has been added to the WeChat account of the Changsha Public Security Bureau to help people in danger quickly alert local police.

The 24-hour alarm platform allows people to choose between a short-message warning and video alarm after reading the notice. People in danger can call the police and share their location by simply clicking a button. Video calls or messages including texts, voice messages, photos, and videos are then available to be sent to the police.

All nine branches in districts and counties will accept the dispatch from the 110 emergency command center of the Changsha Public Security Bureau. The bureau will send police to the local branch after people call them through WeChat.

"If there is an emergency in Changsha county reported through WeChat, local police will rush to the scene immediately after being informed by the command center," said a leader of the Changsha County Public Security Bureau.

Three alert consoles have been set up to deal with emergencies reported through WeChat at the command center of the Changsha Public Security Bureau. People can easily enter the alarm platform by following the official account of the Changsha police or searching in WeChat Mini Programs.
