Guizhou aims to relieve poverty through cultural tourism cooperation

Amer International Group, a Fortune 500 new metallic and non-metallic company, signed an agreement with Qiannan Prefecture Government in Guangdong (Guizhou) Regional Cooperation Industrial Hub Forum on Sept 5 in Guangzhou to relieve poverty.

As part of the deal, 20 billion yuan (around $3 billion) will be invested to establish an industrial hub in Qiannan Prefecture, enhancing local primary, secondary and tertiary industries through a poverty alleviation program. The program is estimated to create 50,000 work placement for residents and annual avenue of around 5 billion yuan. Additionally, more than 6,000 local families are predicted to be alleviated from poverty.

In addition, Amer International Group signed an agreement with Duyun Economic Zone Administrative Committee to invest 6 billion yuan to establish a film production base to go beyond promoting local tourism.

Among the attendees of the forum were local government officials, representatives of Fortune 500 companies and other famous enterprises representing sectors like high-end manufacturing, health care and bio-pharmaceuticals.

The Guangdong and Guizhou Regional Cooperation Industrial Hub Forum was organized by Investment Promotion Bureau of Guizhou province, Guizhou Provincial Government, Guizhou Provincial Agriculture Committee and Qiannan Prefecture Government. The forum was one of the events held during the 12th Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) Cooperation & Development Forum and Economic & Trade Fair.
