Dalian Polytechnic University

Established in 1958, Dalian Polytechnic University (DPU) is one of the four earliest universities with a focus on light industry in China. The university is located in Dalian, Liaoning province.

DPU has 15 colleges which offer multiple programs in textiles, food and art. At present, the university has 900 full-time teachers, 15,000 undergraduates and 1,600 postgraduates.

The university admits 500 international students every year, including winners of the Chinese Government Scholarship and Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students. So far, a total of 3,200 overseas students have graduated from the university.

In line with the increasing internationalization of higher education, DPU has carried out various international exchange activities by cooperating with about 30 universities in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan and South Korea. These activities include student-teacher exchanges, scientific research and academic conferences.

The university has also launched cooperative programs with the University of Southampton, Iowa State University, the University of Queensland, Ritsumeikan University and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
