The 4th Guizhou (Anshun) International Stone Expo concluded in Anshui city of Guizhou province on Aug 29. The four-day event attracted more than 400 enterprises and over 1,000 experts from the stone industry.
Since the first Stone Expo was held in 2015, the city has considered the stone industry as a pillar industry, one that is emerging and is a characteristic brand of Aunshun.
"Now the annual event has become the largest stone trading expo and an international exchange and cooperation platform for stone production and marketing enterprises in southwestern China," said Zeng Yongtao, Party secretary of Anshun committee.
A series of activities, including the Huangguoshu Stone Industry Summit, the Stone Sculpture Communicating Meeting and the 2018 National Mine Congress, offered valuable suggestions for the development of Guizhou stone industry.
During the expo, investment promotional meetings facilitated communication between stone enterprises from inside and outside the province.
Some characteristics contests, including the China Stone Carving Design Competition, the Fashion Stone Photography Contest and the Guizhou Rare Stone Award Competition, explored a developing mode of industry combined with culture.
Fifteen deals were signed during the stone expo, including ten investment projects with a total amount of 7.43 billion yuan ($1.09 billion). A total of 21 trade items were signed, and the amount of intentional projects was 30.1 billion yuan.
In addition, the Guizhou Stone Expo Business Management Company reached three cooperation agreements with the Iranian Stone Association and Trading Company to expand the sales of Guizhou stone in Iran.
