Changsha county to award environmental protection enterprises

The Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone has issued a policy to provide special subsidies and incentive funds to support environmental protection projects.

According to the policy, the funds will be distributed as project investment awards or affiliated incentives. A single project can receive only one reward and a single enterprise can't receive more than 2 million yuan ($290,933) a year.

The award will prioritize air pollution control projects, enterprises that carry out ecological transformation, successful enterprises that adopt the latest ecological transformation technology or engage in research and development related to ecological transformation, and demonstration enterprises, and will focus on product upgrades and technical transformation within environmental protection enterprises.

Air pollution control and standard upgrading projects will be awarded 40 percent of the environmental protection investment amount. Award funds for a single project will not exceed 1.8 million yuan.

In addition, enterprises that are certified by the Environmental Management System, China Environmental Labeling, and Clean Production Audit can obtain 50,000 yuan, 100,000 yuan and 100,000 yuan, respectively.

However, only enterprises operating within the development zone as an independent legal entity can declare projects that pass the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Industrial Environmental Protection Bureau.

Declaration work is organized by the Industrial Environmental Protection Bureau and the Finance Bureau, along with other relevant departments, in the second half of every year. Award winners will be selected by the administrative committee after initial examination and centralized review.
