The China United Property Insurance Co is China's second state-wholly-owned insurance enterprise. Its predecessor was the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Husbandry Production Insurance Co, founded in 1986.

Headquartered in Urumqi, the company has a registered capital of 1.5 billion yuan ($217.4 million). It has 37 branches and nearly 200 sub-branches in 25 provinces and cities in China, with a total of over 20,000 employees.

Its Jiangsu Branch, that opened in 2003 in Nanjing, provides a variety of insurance services covering corporate property loss insurance, household property loss insurance, construction engineering insurance, cargo transportation insurance, motor vehicle insurance, ship insurance, liability insurance, guarantee insurance, credit insurance (excluding export credit insurance), short-term health insurance, and accident insurance.
