With a history of over 1,700 years, Dongjiekou is well regarded as Fuzhou's oldest commercial area where big and established department stores such as Dongbai, Grand Ocean, Orient and Xinhuadu cluster together. Small shops and boutiques in the surrounding streets and lanes are also attractive, with a lot of bargains and discounts on offer all year round.
