Ewenki people celebrate 60th birthday of autonomous banner

Nadam fair was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Ewenki Autonomous Banner in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 12.

It highlights the splendid natural scenery and inherited ethnic customs of the banner, with the purpose of boosting the local economy by attracting more people to travel.

The fair demonstrates diverse ethnic cultures, ethnic languages, a variety of primitive lifestyles, and colorful forms of music and art.

Ewenki Autonomous Banner, dominated by Ewenki people, has 25 ethnic groups with a total population of 145,000.

In the past 60 years, the banner has continuously promoted national unity, prospered local cultural customs, and has been honored as demonstration banner by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.
