Sanjiang University sits in the historical city Nanjing and offers four-year undergraduate programs approved by the Ministry of Education. The university was the first private one in Jiangsu and one of the first four nationwide.
The university has a main campus at Tianxinqiao and four branches as well as a joint education operation. It has roughly 19,000 full-time students and offers 43 undergraduate programs and 31 specialized ones that cover literature, industry, economy, management, science and art.
The university has actively engaged in education exchanges and cooperation with foreign counterparts. It held joint education programs with the University of New Haven in the US and established long-term academic exchanges and cooperation with institutes of higher learning in the US, the UK, Canada, South Korea and Japan. Its CIMA program with the Singapore Chartered Institute of Technology has offered a communication platform with students and faculty on both sides. In 2004, the university was the first of its kind in Jiangsu to be allowed to take foreign students. It has received funding from the Nanjing government earmarked as foreign student scholarship.
