Three app channels of China's internet giant Tencent Holdings, namely "Tencent News", "Tencent Politics" and "Tencent Travel", was launched in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province on Aug 7.

About 300 government officers and businessmen from Jilin gathered to witness the moment, including Cui Ping, director of the Jilin Internet Information Office, Xu Chengjun, general manager of the Tencent Politics and Tourism Center, and Chen Shoujun, vice director of Jilin Tourism Development Committee.

Meanwhile, 11 Jilin-based corporations and organizations also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tencent to promote further cooperation with the Shenzhen-based tech giant.

The northeast province has been working with China's internet giant Tencent Holdings to boost the development of its Internet industry and build up a "Digital Jilin".

The two of them signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 15, and two months later on June 21, Jilin Shuimojinchi Culture and Media Co Ltd, wholly-owned subsidiary of Yipin Media, was officially authorized as the exclusive partner of "Tencent News", "Tencent Politics" and "Tencent Travel".

Building a digital Jilin is the key to the region's high-quality development and a strategic choice for the region's revitalization. With Jilin's smart infrastructure, the province will be able to fully leverage Tencent's technologies and management capabilities to achieve solid results in terms of digitization.
