Distinct beautification treatment set for leisure sites

Landscaping at seven parks and one green area in the East Wing will be restored from damage inflicted by Typhoon Hato last summer, according to the Zhuhai Urban Utilities & Forestry Bureau.

The first group includes White Lotus Cave (Bailiandong) in Jida, Banzhang and Paotai mountains in Gongbei, Qianshan Riverside, and Xiangshan parks in Old Xiangzhou, as well as the Women & Children Central Greenland in New Xiangzhou.

The Guangzhou Chuangjing Garden Design Institute won the contract for the landscaping design with plans for each park to take on its own characteristics under a unified theme of Revitalized & Reborn.

Zhuhai Urban Municipal Construction will oversee the work. Here are the facelift details:

White Lotus Cave (Bailiandong) Park

Theme: White Lotus Luster

Orientation: New scenic spots will breathe new life into the park and provide a cozy and relaxed experience.

Highlights: Upgrade the top-billed Fairy Creek, Stone Forest, Lotus Pond and Barbecue sites. Create a mid-lake fountain and 3D water curtain show

Banzhang Mt Park

Theme: Resume the Green, Overlook Zhuhai and Macao

Orientation: Located in downtown Zhuhai, it is an urban central park with a blend of natural and historic landscape.

Highlights: Renovate the entrance, Memorial Pavilion of Macao's Return, and mountaintop sightseeing deck. Plant a sea of flowers.

Paotai Mt Park

Theme: Red Memory

Orientation: Complete support facilities and encourage more people to remember the revolutionary history of Paotai Mt.

Highlights: Add a sports field, weatherproof corridor, and children's activity area. Transform Leisure Square into a round configuration. Connect and upgrade mountain trails.

Qianshan Riverside Park

Theme: Polychrome Waterfront

Orientation: Use plants of different colors to create a landscape belt resembling a colored ribbon adorning the riverbank.

Highlights: Build waterfront and circular theaters. Add on-water performances. Renovate the sightseeing deck.

Xiangshan Park

Theme: Fragrant Dream-Seeking Adventure

Orientation: New vitality will be brought to the time-honored park by integrating historic and modern elements into the natural landscape. 

Highlights: Add sightseeing boardwalks and mountain roads. Complete support facilities. Renovate the facades of different buildings.

Women & Children Central Greenland

Theme: Refreshing & Chromatic

Orientation: The establishment of green bases will add a subtle splash of color to the refreshing and chromatic landscape.

Highlights: Build a children's recreational square. Renovate Red Flower & Green Willow Avenue and the small Fitness Square.

Bids for the geotechnical investigation and survey of Haibin and Jingshan parks in the second group have been accepted.
