A prefabricated industrial park was recently established in Horinger New Area of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, becoming the first park of its kind in the region.

Sponsored by Joindo BROAD, a local service operator focused on the sustainable development of cities, the park covers 1,000 mu (666,666 square meters).

Inner Mongolia has responded enthusiastically to the national call to develop prefabricated structures. In September 2017, the regional government released new guidelines to boost the market for prefabricated structures.

According to the guidelines, by 2025 the government will increase its investment to 70 percent of the total sum spend on that year's prefabricated construction projects.

Prefabricated construction is the practice of assembling the components of a structure at a manufacturing site. Compared with traditional construction methods, prefabricated structures help reduce dust and noise pollution as well as water and electricity consumption during construction, making them more eco-friendly and cost-effective.
