Nearly 1,000 young people from Hong Kong (HK) arrived in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province, on the evening of July 23, starting their tour of Zhejiang, where they will gain an insight to some of the province's developments and achievements in recent years.

The tour has been co-organized by the Zhejiang Overseas Friendship Association and the Zhejiang Residents (Hong Kong) Association, and supported by the Zhejiang Provincial CPC Committee and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government.

Che Jun, Party chief of Zhejiang province met with some representatives of the HK delegation on July 23, saying the tour in Zhejiang is expected to provide young people from the special administrative region with a window through which they can have a better understanding of China's, and in particular Zhejiang's achievements in recent years.

With an average age of 18, the participants of the tour are students from over 30 HK's high schools and universities including Pui Kiu Middle School, Hon Wah College, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Around 200 young people from Zhejiang have also joined the touring group.

The cultural exchange event in Zhejiang will offer HK young people opportunities to experience the high-speed trains that run in the province, visit the venue of the G20 Hangzhou Summit and watch a friendly match between volleyball teams from the HK and the Chinese mainland.

In addition to taking part in activities in Hangzhou, the group of youths will be divided into subgroups to visit 11 cities in the province.
