Shrimp noodles

Shrimp noodles are only available from May to July, because of the seasonal availability of shrimp roes. It consists of shrimp meat, shrimp brains and shrimp roes.

Just stir fry the three ingredients with some cooking wine and then serve with noodles. There is only one word to describe the food: delicious.

The noodles are also nicknamed Tuhao noodles (meaning quite expensive) for it usually around costs 20 yuan ($3) for a bowl of other noodles while it could be 100 yuan for shrimp noodles.

Although the shrimps are not hard to obtain, it's the time and labor spent in peeling them which makes it a tricky dish to prepare and an expensive one to buy in a restaurant.
