The 2018 CLPGA Zhuhai Heritage will see 65 women from China, Thailand, Japan, Cook Islands, Singapore, New Zealand, and Malaysia vie for 200,000 yuan ($31,285) at Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club from June 7 to 9.

Reigning champion Saranporn Langkulgasettrin of Phuket, Thailand leads the lineup. At just 18, she recently took gold at the EFG Hong Kong Ladies Open on May 13 -- the 15th title in her career.

The Chinese Ladies Professional Golfers Association Heritage series was founded prior to the 2017 Chinese National Games to give female golfers more training opportunities. This year, Zhuhai will again serve as a tryout zone before the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia from Aug 18 to Sept 2.

In addition, more spots will be opened to teenagers this year. The CLPGA Tour, which has teenager girls compete against professionals, will hone their skills and improve the development of golf in China, said Wu Wenzhou, chairman of Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club.

Accredited to the CLPGA Tour, the Zhuhai match is favored by the China Golf Association. The Guangdong Golf Association, Guangdong Golf Sports Center, Beijing-based China Ladies Professional Golf Athletics, and Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club will oversee the event locally.

Golden Gulf Golf Club is situated between Hongqi and Sanzao towns in Jinwan District.
