Zhuhai recruits select overseas elites with great pay

Million-yuan ($156,000) salaries will be offered to 100 invited candidates during the 2018 Zhuhai Overseas-Educated Scholars Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conference, which opens on June 28.

Greeting them at Pullman Zhuhai in Midtown (opposite New Yuanming Palace in Lanpu, Gongbei) will be 70 local well-known enterprises, colleges, and universities. They are offering more than 570 key positions, high salaries, R&D incentives, and essentials for living, according to the organizing committee.

These highly skilled personnel with doctorates and higher qualifications from prestigious Western universities will experience Zhuhai's favorable business environment and be briefed about local preferential policies. Field visits to innovation and entrepreneurship sites, quality entrepreneurship project roadshows, and innovative talent talks are on the program.

In return for all the perks, accepted candidates are expected to fuel the development of electronics and information, internet, biomedicine, and intelligent manufacturing in Zhuhai.

Held annually since 2009, the conference has produced many talented overseas returnees and is larger this year than ever before. It is sponsored by the Zhuhai government and organized by the Organization Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, and Zhuhai Human Resources & Social Security Bureau.

Nearly 500 applicants, mostly between the ages of 30 and 45, had submitted registration forms as of June 4.
