Baotou signs deal with Tianjin Binhai New Area

A new framework agreement was signed between Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Tianjin Binhai New Area on May 29, reports Baotou Daily.

The new agreement commits both sides to cooperating with each other, providing a boost to regional development.

Tianjin Binhai New Area, located in the intersectional area of Bohai Sea Economic Zone and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei metropolitan area, covers 2,270 square meters, and has a 153-kilometer-long coastline plus a 3,000-square-meter maritime zone.

The main industries of the new area include aerospace, petrochemicals, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, biopharmaceuticals, new energy and new materials, light industry and textiles, and defense technology.

Zhao Jiangtao, mayor of Baotou, said that the city attaches great importance to cooperating with Tianjin Binhai New Area, and expressed his hopes that both sides will make full use of their respective industrial advantages.
