The Changsha government and State Geospatial Information Center signed a framework agreement to collaborate on building an industrial base for geospatial big data on May 28.

According to the agreement, both sides will, based on Hunan Geographic Information Industrial Park, set up a state-level base to develop the industrial chain of geospatial big data, construct a data trading center, and promote the organization of a national innovation center.

In addition, joint efforts will also be applied to establish a research institute and enhance cooperation and exchanges in the field.

Liu Xiaoming, deputy director of State Geospatial Information Center, voiced confidence in Changsha developing geospatial big data industry.

The Central Chinese city should step up efforts to make innovations on products and technical services so as to expand applications of geospatial information and promote extensive development, Liu pointed out.

Changsha executive deputy mayor, Shu Xinggang said that the cooperation will provide new momentum for the city to achieve high-quality development.

It will boost the formation of an industrial cluster featuring big data, geographical mapping, satellite remote sensing, Beidou Navigation Satellite System and artificial intelligence.

Changsha expects to make it into the advanced ranks in the industry across the country.
