Baotou launches first smart distribution center

The Baotou Shuanghuafeng Distribution Center was formally launched on May 22 as the first smart logistics new energy distribution center in Baotou city, according to the Baotou Daily.

The project will realize the interoperability between ports and rationally allocate resources. It will also introduce new energy vehicles and distribute all types of goods throughout the city.

The distribution center, co-developed by Baotou Transit Highway Port and Shuanghefeng Logistics Co, has a warehousing area of 4,000 square meters. The project integrates internet logistics and finance, increasing efficiency.

Also, it will develop online platform cargoes by leveraging the independent research and service capacity of internet producers including Lujing, EHD and Transfar Pay. Customers will be able to make orders online and quickly achieve vehicle and cargo matching.

So far, the distribution center boasts 150 new energy vehicles and the number is expected to reach 500 in the near future.

Li Jun, deputy general manager of Baotou Transit Highway Port, said that the new energy vehicles can reduce the delivery cost by about two thirds compared to ordinary fuel vehicles.
