A signing ceremony was held to mark the establishment of a new national industrial park for assistive devices in Horinger New Area in Hohhot, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on May 8.

At the ceremony, China Assistive Devices and Technology Center for Persons with Disabilities, Hohhot municipal government, and Inner Mongolia Disabled Persons' Federation agreed to promote the assistive devices industry in the city.

Feng Yuzhen, mayor of Hohhot; Wang Jiping, vice-mayor of the city; Li Xi, director of China Assistive Devices and Technology Center for Persons with Disabilities, and Zhu Jianguo, deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Horinger New Area attended the ceremony.

During the signing ceremony, it was announced that the new industrial park will aim to be a leading area for the research, development, production, promotion and sale of assistive devices.

Earlier in the year, Hohhot was selected to be a national pilot area for developing assistive devices.

It is expected that the park will eventually develop into a cluster for the industry.
