Established in 2009, the China Fencing League was organized by the Chinese Fencing Association and sports marketing company SECA and has helped the sport win wide popularity, especially among adolescents.

With fencing becoming a favorite sport of youth, Kaifu district of Changsha set up a base for talented fencing athletes in 2014 and has drawn 2,000 plus fans.

According to the Secretary-general of the China Fencing Association, Xiao Aihua, Changsha can look forward to sound developments in the fencing sport and is expected to cultivate more outstanding players for China's national teams in the future.
