Foshan Chancheng Central Hospital, established in 1958, is located in the Pearl River Delta hinterland and the third largest city of Foshan in Guangdong province. It is a national Grade III Class I general hospital combining medical and rehabilitation services with scientific research and teaching. The hospital was accredited by the Joint Commission International in January 2018, marking the province-first hospital of such kind and the first five-star general hospital in China (non-public).

Covering an area of more than 50 mu (3.33 hectares), the hospital has 1,200 beds and registered 2.5 million emergency room visits and 50,000 in-patients in 2017. There are more than 1,800 employees, 580 of whom have intermediate or senior professional titles.

Spine surgery, urology, women and children medical care are widely known as the "three treasures of Chancheng Central Hospital". The discopathy treatment center using minimal invasive technologies, initiated by President of the hospital Xie Dazhi, has became the only national clinical research unit of discopathy awarded with the governmental science and technology award. At present, it has offered three other brand services for spine, joint and pain diagnosis and treatment.

The eight clinical departments of gynecology and obstetrics, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) gynecology, spinal surgery, cardiovascular medicine, neurology, general surgery, anesthesiology and general practice are evaluated as key specialties and specialized subjects of Foshan and provincial colleges and universities, among which TCM gynecology is a high-level key medical specialty.
