Errenzhuan performance

Errenzhuan is a song-and-dance duet popular in the Northeast of China that originated from the folk songs of NE China. It started 300 years ago and has become a popular art form with outstanding national characteristics.

The performances often include two characters who tell stories through singing and dancing. The current Errenzhuan performances have absorbed virtues of other forms of art forms such as Hebei Clapper Opera, Chinese shadow puppetry and single drumming.

It was listed among China's first national intangible cultural heritages in 2006.
