An innovative support platform for decision-making and coordination has made Zhuhai the only prefecture-level city to earn one of 30 best e-governance awards for building a digital China.

Applying for the honors were 147 candidates. The winners were announced on April 22 at the 1st Digital China Summit (DCS) where Zhuhai is exhibiting in Fuzhou.

The city's delegation is showcasing an "intelligent community" under a digital government. They are simulating a variety of scenarios related to transport, making a doctor's appointment, government affairs services, online tax declarations, and e-business registrations.

The public support platform for decision-making and coordination provides all city departments with basic facts on population, legal persons, maps, and credit, as well as service tools designed for data collection and analysis, information exchange, and diagram generation.

The platform, which went online last September, already covers 80 percent of city departments. Functions like data collection, integration, digging and visualization, as well as nine urban thematic repositories are included.

DCS is reportedly the highest-level information technology-related conference since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Covering 42,000 sq m (10.4 acres), the Fuzhou Strait International Conference & Exhibition Center encompasses an E-Governance section and Digital Fujian, Digital Economy, and Digital Social Experience pavilions. The theme is "Let Informatization Drive Modernization, Speed Up the Construction of Digital China."

The Zhuhai delegation, led by Vice Mayor Zhu Qingqiao, is the only exhibitor from a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province.
