The commencement ceremony for Shanhe Health Valley project was launched at Guoyuan town in Changsha county on April 18, an added tourist attraction for the visitors.

The project was designed to be a green rural complex occupying an area of 1,980 mu (132 hectares). To be finished by 2019, the construction process includes three phases, with the first phase requiring an investment of 520 million yuan ($82.85 million).

Integrating life with industries, the project focuses on organic agriculture, natural education to children and health regimen tourism as the primary developmental direction.

The project plans to set up eight pillar industries – organic agriculture, children education, natural education, elderly care and health care, tourism, hotel, catering and entertainment.

Located in Hunan's capital city of Changsha, the project enjoys a favorable transportation, with only a 30-minute-ride away from Changsha Huanghua International Airport and 45-minute from Changsha South Railway Station.

"We will construct a fruit-themed park where various fruits will be planted, allowing children to play games and learn more about fruits," recommended Zheng Yiqing, chairman of Wuhan Shanhe Health Industry Development Co Ltd.

Once the project is put into operation, more jobs will be available for local residents. "With this we won't have to look for jobs to far from our homes. Working at Shanhe Health Valley, I can both engage in farming and take care of the old and the children at home," said a local villager surnamed Huang.
