Hohhot's Saihan district recently announced that it would revive its Ulan Muqir art troupe.

Formally known as Hohhot Suburban Ulan Muqir Art Troupe, the group was founded in 1971 and has staged many public shows, winning several awards during its long career.

The troupe will promote the cultural development of Saihan district though its high-quality performances.

According to Hohhot government, Saihan district will accelerate construction of auxiliary facilities that will help promote the art troupe.

Ulan Muqir, which means “red bud” in Mongolian, is a name given to traveling troupes that go from one grazing site to another, performing for the herdsmen in remote areas of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
