Chagan Lake Scenic Spot

Chagan Lake Scenic Spot, located in Qian Gorlos Mongolian autonomous county of Songyuan, Jilin province, is a national water-conservancy-themed scenic area and covers a total area of 600 sq km.

There are seven separated tourism sections, including a central area, an area for grassland where guests can learn about Mongolian customs, a water entertainment zone, a picnic and camp site and an agriculture area.

The center part of the spot is Chagan Lake, which means a white, holy lake in Mongolian. Covering 506 sq km, the lake is one of the largest fresh water lakes in China and the biggest one within the province.

It is famous for its variety of fish and phragmites.

According to the spot's administrative committee, there are 68 species of fish, such as carp, silver carp and crucian carp in the lake and the annual fresh fish output can be as high as 6,000 tons.
