The Imperial Palace of the Manchu State was the official residence of China's last emperor Puyi when he was the Emperor of the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo. It is also an education base to inform people about World War II.

The palace, covering 137,000 sq m, contains dozens of buildings of different sizes. They were built in both Western and Chinese architectural styles, as was typical of that period.

The largest building in the palace is the Side Hall. It was Puyi's residence, and where he dealt with political affairs.

Other buildings such as the Qinmin Building, Jixi Building and Huaiyuan Building were constructed for ceremonies, daily life and worship, and are also well preserved.
