Baotou-based companies recognized for integrity

Two Baotou-based companies –– Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group and Baotou City Water Supply Company –– were recognized for their integrity according to a list released by 14 departments of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, including Inner Mongolia Publicity Department, Baotou Daily reported on April 8.

A total of 39 Inner Mongolia-based companies were on the list.

Established in 1954, Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group is one of 156 national key projects established during the first Five-Year Plan period (1953-1957).

The company is engaged in special steel smelting, extrusion, casting, forging and machinery, with an area of 350 square kilometers and total assets of 15.3 billion yuan ($2.3 billion). It has more than 15,000 employees and 9,300 pieces of equipment and devices, with gross revenues of more than 10 billion yuan.

The main businesses of the company include manufacturing weapons and equipment, special steel and augmented products, as well as mining trucks and engineering machinery.

Founded in 1956, Baotou City Water Supply Company is one of the main subsidiaries of Baotou. It is responsible for Baotou City’s water supply. The total assets of the company are valued at 1.1 billion yuan ($166 million).
