As a new type of environmentally-friendly sharing economy, bike-sharing refers to timeshare rental bicycles, that is, bikes that can be shared on campus, subway stations, bus stops, residential areas, commercial areas, and other public spaces.

With this new service, customers are able to pick up a bike anywhere in the city, thanks to GPS-enabled apps, and leave it almost anywhere at the end of their journey.

First, download the bike-sharing app on your phone. Then, go through the following three steps: Phone verification, deposit payment and real-name authentication.

Then, open the APP and check if there are any spare shared bikes nearby. If there is one, go to the location, and open the APP again:

Click the unlocking button on the APP's homepage, and open the electronic lock by scanning the QR code of the bicycle or entering its license plate number, but don't forget to unlock the manual lock.

Once you arrive at your destination, you can leave the bike where you please. After the manual lock closes, the APP will remind you to pay the bill promptly.

Currently, the bike-sharing boom in China has entered a new phase of stable development and has become commuters’ new option for short trips.

According to Chinese bike-sharing company ofo Inc, among the top 20 cities hosting most of ofo's bikes, 19 of them have seen improved traffic conditions.

In Beijing, due to the shared bikes, congestion in over half of the main metro stations during rush hour has decreased by 4.1 percent compared to last year, according to Gaode Maps.
