Resurfacing, slow-traffic sidewalk installations, pavement repairs, and landscaping commenced on April 3 along seven roads mainly in Xiangzhou and Jida. The renovations are being made in further preparation for November's China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition.

The first phase, which was completed in December, renovated four highways, including Yinhua Road in New Xiangzhou. This second phase totals 13.3 km (8.3 miles) on Hongshan, Cuijing, Cuixian, Xianghua, Jingye, East Yanhe, and Jining roads. The work will optimize traffic infrastructure to accommodate several hundred thousand travelers to Airshow China 2018 in Jinwan District from Nov 6 to 11.

According to Yang Shisong, chief engineer of the Zhuhai Highway Bureau, upgrades to another 13 or 14 roads are scheduled for late April and early May. The third round is for Jianmin, Santaishi, Yuehai, Fenghuang, Guihua, and Jinji roads, with Huahai, Cuixiang, and Shuiwan roads scheduled for the final phase of renovations. These are mostly in Gongbei and Xiangzhou.
