Shou Qi Group car-sharing has come to Zhuhai with 200 GoFun new-energy vehicles that can be rented here and dropped off locally or at several other Pearl River cities.

The State-owned chauffeur service has a larger fleet and wider coverage area than other ride-sharing companies. Founded in 2015, the group's GoFun Chuxing launched its rental app in 2016. It now serves 40 Chinese cities and has 1 million users per month. All in all, there currently are 100,000 cars shared in China, but that is predicted to reach 2 million by 2020.

Motorists can rent, use, and return a car in Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, and Zhongshan, according to GoFun's spokesperson. The company also has cars in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, and Qingdao, for instance.

Nearby, GoFun has just put 300 new-energy cars into service in Shenzhen and plans to have 1,000 on the road in the city by year end. Also slated there are dedicated GoFun parking spaces.

The GoFun pure-electric vehicles came into service in Zhuhai on March 30. Each of its Chery eQ1 Small Ants has a maximum speed of 100 kmph (62 mph) and endurance of more than 250 km (155 miles). Its compact interior accommodates four passengers and luggage.

A GoFun account reportedly requires a deposit of 699 yuan ($102) uploaded to a cell phone along with one's ID card and driver's license. (Users with more than 700 points on Sesame [Zhima] Credit created by Ant Financial are exempt from the cash pledge.) The fee then is 15.6 yuan ($2.30) per hour or 1 yuan (16 cents) per kilometer plus one-tenth of a yuan per minute. New customers, however, get a special deal of 1 yuan for three hours of driving.
