Special traditional costumes exhibition to be held in Changsha

A special traditional costumes exhibition will kick off in Changsha Museum on April 20, allowing visitors a glimpse of clothing from the Han (206 BC - AD 220) and Tang (AD 618-907) periods.

The exhibition will feature a variety of themes. There'll be ancient female apparel, makeup, dance, figurine. Furthermore, there will also be gold and silver wares, jade accessories, fauna on show, totaling 108 cultural relics.

The grand show will be accompanied by a range of diverse activities, including traditional instrumental and make-up procedures that date back more than 2,000 years.

To give visitors a better insight of the unique clothing and makeup culture of these two dynasties, the curator will also exhibit a large number of photos and literary works.

In addition, a seminar to interpret the daily life of women will be given on the opening day by Li Yan, exhibition planner of the Xi'an Museum, giving participants some insights on the history and culture.

Visitors who help present the exhibition in traditional Han dress will get an exquisite gift from the organizers.

The special exhibition will be free to all visitors until July 22 except for statutory holidays and Mondays during the period.
