Yantai Zhifu Hospital was established in 1956. It is the only public Grade II A-level general hospital affiliated with Zhifu district government. It is a comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. The hospital has one community health service center and five community health service stations.

In order to meet the patients'needs, the district government invested in the expansion of the hospital in 2015. The newly-built outpatient building with spacious hall and cosy wards fully embodies the concept of "people-oriented".   

It is equipped with modern medical facilities. It has 430 beds and 15 wards. There are 28 clinical specialties, 11 medical technical departments, 13 management departments, and a number of newly built key departments, including laminar flow clean operating room, disinfection supply center, intensive medicine department, and laboratory department.

It not only develops traditional leading disciplines such as cardiology, neurology, respiratory medicine and gastroenterology, but also supports the development of surgical departments through the introduction of academic leaders and business backbone.

It prioritizes the development of dermatology, gastrointestinal anorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery, intensive medicine, emergency department, pediatrics, rehabilitation medicine, imaging, ultrasound, laboratory and other disciplines.
